Seminario Introducing Software Defined Networks in railway communications

Seminario: Seminario del DIIS, jueves 25 de enero a las 11.30

Ponente: Stefano Marrone, Associate Professor @ Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Italy)

Título: "Introducing Software Defined Networks in railway communications"

Descripción:
The emergence of 5G technologies opens up new unconsidered scenarios for railway communications. One of the foundational aspects of the 5G architecture is control-plane programmability, achieved through the adoption of the Software Defined Networking (SDN) paradigm. In a railway scenario, this can be exploited to reconfigure network behaviours for a more effective management of communication flows produced by moving trains. The seminar presents a framework for integrating formal modelling and analysis tools and techniques into a programmable control plane specifically tailored for railway communication infrastructures.
