Abstract: This thesis is a research about planning and scheduling in a medical department and implementing them into a software application. It uses two different planning and scheduling algorithms for scheduling patients' surgeries. One of the algorithms used in this project is based on linear programming while the other one, uses quadratic constraints.
For an easy managing of the input parameters and the result of these algorithms, the application also offers the possibility to manage medical teams, see and update patients' medical history, as well as managing the available operating rooms.
Short bio: Diana Botez is a master student at Technical University of Iasi, doing her final project within Erasmus programme at Universidad de Zaragoza under supervision of Prof. Cristian Mahulea. Her master thesis is focused on health care system and more specifically, on planning and scheduling surgeries in a medical department while offering an easy-to-use interface.
