I believe what you said was very logical. But, consider this, what if you composed a catchier post title? I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added something that grabbed people's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda plain. You could peek at Yahoo's home page and note how they create post titles to grab viewers to open the links. You might add a video or a related pic or two to get readers excited about everything've got to say. Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.
